At the Olympia Centre in Dundee, Stirling Water Polo attempted to retain both the Under 17 boys and Under 19 boys Scottish Championship titles that they have held since 2019.
First up was our Under 17 Boys who took on Warrender. Stirling started well but didn't fully commit on their scoring opportunities. Warrender edged in front and although the middle periods saw a tight affair, Stirling couldn't put pressure on their opponents. Towards the end Warrender stretched their lead and ran out 13-4 winners.
The Under 19 Boys started well against Portobello and although losing the first goal, Stirling quickly took a 4-1 lead. However, poor play by Stirling allowed Portobello back in to the game and they quickly took control. Stirling were guilty throughout of wasted opportunities and poor defence. Portobello ran out deserved 24-14 winners.
A difficult day for Stirling where both our Teams failed to produce the water polo that they are capable of. Lessons to be learned and lots to work on for the next season.
